DESCRIPTION:Dear Middle School Families\, \n\n\nWe have made arrangements for two off-site classes for our students on Wednesday\, March 6th and also on Wednesday\, March 27th. Each class will run from 9:00-10:00. \nIn an ongoing attempt to encourage our students to look at all options and opportunities of Physical Expression and for personal fitness\, we will attend two boxing inspired fitness classes at Oakville Boxing Fitness and Functional Training (OBFT). https://www.obft.ca/ \nWe are very excited to have gained access to OBFT as they are one of the few facilities in Oakville that conduct youth non-contact classes and have a lot of experience with the age group of our students. These classes are conducted by certified trainers of OBFT and are focused on fitness rather than actual boxing skills. Boxing fitness\, like any Martial Arts inspired fitness\, is a great and fun way to gain strength\, endurance and speed. Boxing training is also known to have other positive outcomes like an increase in feeling confident and empowered. \nAll students will be supplied with a set of hand wraps that will be theirs to keep! \nWhat to Wear and Bring: \n\nStudents should wear preferably light gym wear (shorts\, t-shirt) and bring their indoor gym shoes (no Crocs allowed) for the actual class. If they require an additional layer\, they can wear their Clanmore Tracksuit on top for the trip back to school (which will be via public transit). \nAlso\, please bring filled water bottles!\nBecause we are taking the bus back to school\, students will require their Presto Card as well.\nBesides their backpack with agenda and any returning school items (such as homework)\, students MUST bring a change of clothes as well\, which they can change into when they return to school.\n\nWednesday Morning Drop Off at OBFT (8:15-8:50): We ask parents to drop off students directly at OBFT no later than 8:50\, but Kristina will be on site and available to receive students beginning at 8:15.  \n\n\nOakville Boxing & Functional Training (Google Map Link)1055 North Service Rd E\, Oakville\, ON L6H 1A6\n\nReturn to School: We will be catching Bus 20 at 10:30\, transferring at Oakville Go\, then catching the 11 bus to return to school around 11:15. \nAdditional Notes: Students will change when they return to school\, so they must bring a change of clothes and their regular backpack.
