DESCRIPTION:We are looking forward to our Parent-Child music program that commences Friday\,January 26th\, and will run up until the March Break (March 8rd) except for February 16th as it’s Family Day Weekend. \n It is a six-week program that is based onMusikgarten that Clanmore uses in all our preschool programs. Classes are led by Cosima Loranger who is the Toddler music teacher and happens tobe a singer & songwriter with extensive knowledge of the Musikgarten program and hasbeen working with it over the last 7 years at Clanmore Montessori School.  \n Classes happen every Friday from 10:45 am to 11:15 am in the gym so you will arrive atthe front entrance\, gather\, and head to the gym\, and then your children will join you.  \nIt isa wonderful time to bond through music and movement with your little one and anopportunity to add more songs to your repertoire. In addition to learning new songs\, there will be pitch matching\, rhythmic patterning\, and keeping a steady beat withinstruments.  \nPlease note that we would be delighted to see grandparents\, aunts\, uncles\, or nanniesin the event that a parent is unable to join us.At 11:15 am half-day children will go home with their parents and full-day children will goback to the class to get ready for outdoor play. Those full-day parents that would like totake their children home are welcome to.

We will be walking and using public transportation to and from the museum. Here is a description of the program we will participate in: \nOakville and the Underground Railroad \nStudents will explore Oakville's relationship with the United States in the context of the Underground Railroad. Oakville Harbour played a significant role in the journey to Canada for many freedom seekers. Key figures in the Oakville Underground Railroad story are introduced through the exhibition Freedom\, Opportunity and Family: Oakville’s Black History\, and the multimedia presentation The Underground Railroad: Next Stop Freedom. (Town of Oakville)  \nFor this outing the children need to be dressed in their full school uniform\, wear outerwear appropriate for the weather\, and footwear that is comfortable for walking. Staff will bring snacks and recyclable cups for water. There is no need for children to bring anything out of the ordinary. \nWe do need your help in having the children arrive at school between 8:00 am – 8:10 am. We will be at the regular arrival west door (bird’s beak door) to greet everyone. Once attendance has been taken\, we will leave on foot for the public bus. Please note that we ask that you wait with younger siblings in your car until normal arrivals commence. We will return to school by 12:15 pm\, just in time for lunch.
