DESCRIPTION:Every year the Middle School Community organizes an annual gift card drive for teeneagers. Many toy drives often underrepresent teenagers because the toys donated are more appropriate for babies\, toddlers and young children. By donating gift cards\, we give teenagers an opportunity to get a gift this holiday season.  \n \nDue to your tremendous generosity\, last year we were able to raise $1989.76\, and donated  an additional $525 from our own Middle School Micro-Economy profits.  \n \nWe will accept gift card donations or cash donations\, which we will use to purchase gift cards to donate. We will then donate the money to Oakville Firefighters Toy Drive.  \n \nWe will distribute boxes to begin collecting donations today\, and will also place a box at reception. Please ensure that your gift card is labeled to show the amount on the card. We will be collecting donations up until December 15th. \n \nSome suggestions of gift cards to donate for teenages are: \n \nStarbucks \nTim Hortons \nMcDonald’s \nOr other restaurants  \n \nWinners \nGarage \nAmerican Eagle \nFoot Locker \nGap \nBanana Republic \nOld Navy \n \nBest Buy \nEB Games/Gamestop \nSport Chek or other sport stores \nIndigo/Chapters \nWalmart \nCineplex/Film.ca \n \nWe hope to get many donations this holiday season! DESCRIPTION:Arrival: \n\nThe Middle School begins our Morning Meeting at 8:30. We would love for the Year 6 students to join us for this part of our day. If you are able to drop off your child by 8:25 at the Middle School Farmhouse door\, we'd appreciate it! If you are not able to drop off your child early\, please use the Elementary drop-off as usual so your child can check in with their teacher first.\nWe will ask Year 6 students to take their belongings down to their Upper Elementary classroom upon arrival and check in with their Elementary teachers\, then rejoin the Middle School.\n\nWhat to Wear \n\nUpper Elementary students visiting the Middle School are welcome to wear casual clothing for the day. Some of our activities might involve cooking\, painting\, or other slightly messy work\, so students may want to choose accordingly.\n\nActivities \n\nAlthough some of the students will be visiting on Friday\, no Year 6 students will be participating in the Cafe work or Grocery Shopping.\n\nLunch \n\nTuesday\, November 21 we will be making Fish Tacos. These are served with cabbage shreds\, guacamole\, freshly made pico de gallo\, and a creamy\, yogurt-based white sauce. These are served on corn or corn/flour tortillas.\nFriday\, November 24 we will be making "Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup" with grilled cheese sandwiches. \n\nRecess & Return to Elementary \n\nFollowing lunch\, the Year 6 students will be invited to join the Middle School students for recess on the Rolling Hills. While Middle School recess is usually an unsupervised activity\, a Middle School Guide will be observing recess during our visit days.\nElementary students will return to their classes at 12:45.\n\nWe hope this helps prepare your child for a fun visit.

SUMMARY:Year 6 (UEE) Middle School Visits
DESCRIPTION:Arrival: \n\nThe Middle School begins our Morning Meeting at 8:30. We would love for the Year 6 students to join us for this part of our day. If you are able to drop off your child by 8:25 at the Middle School Farmhouse door\, we'd appreciate it! If you are not able to drop off your child early\, please use the Elementary drop-off as usual so your child can check in with their teacher first.\nWe will ask Year 6 students to take their belongings down to their Upper Elementary classroom upon arrival and check in with their Elementary teachers\, then rejoin the Middle School.\n\nWhat to Wear \n\nUpper Elementary students visiting the Middle School are welcome to wear casual clothing for the day. Some of our activities might involve cooking\, painting\, or other slightly messy work\, so students may want to choose accordingly.\n\nActivities \n\nAlthough some of the students will be visiting on Friday\, no Year 6 students will be participating in the Cafe work or Grocery Shopping.\n\nLunch \n\nTuesday\, November 21 we will be making Fish Tacos. These are served with cabbage shreds\, guacamole\, freshly made pico de gallo\, and a creamy\, yogurt-based white sauce. These are served on corn or corn/flour tortillas.\nFriday\, November 24 we will be making "Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup" with grilled cheese sandwiches. \n\nRecess & Return to Elementary \n\nFollowing lunch\, the Year 6 students will be invited to join the Middle School students for recess on the Rolling Hills. While Middle School recess is usually an unsupervised activity\, a Middle School Guide will be observing recess during our visit days.\nElementary students will return to their classes at 12:45.\n\nWe hope this helps prepare your child for a fun visit.
