Listening to Reading Orientation

Dear Clanmore Families,  

You are invited to an orientation to learn about the Listening to Reading program that takes place in the Lower and Upper Elementary communities.  The meeting will take place Wednesday, October 8 at 8:45am and lasts approximately 20 minutes.


LISTENING TO READING

Listening to Reading is a program in which parent volunteers sit in the elementary classrooms once a week and listen to the children read.  It is a program run by the Parent Association and its aim is to give the children a 5-10 minute opportunity to read aloud to an adult.  Additionally, it is a wonderful opportunity for parents to get a sneak peak into the classroom environment. You are welcome to volunteer in any Lower or Upper Elementary classroom! 

A Signup Genius link will be sent out following the orientation.  Each parent will have one opportunity to volunteer.  Should we need more volunteers we will let you know.  Below are the Term 1 volunteer days:

Term 1:


ALL Lower and Upper Elementary East and West classes: Tuesday's 9-10:30 am

Each volunteer requires a Vulnerable Sector Clearance Check before volunteering.  If you have already applied but have not yet received it, you may send your receipt to the school via email  teachers@clanmore.ca.  

If you are unable to attend the meeting on Wednesday October 8 at 8:45 am but would like additional information, feel free to email parents@clanmore.ca.
